Premium 97 Solution Grade Diamond Gypsum

The first step in building potting soil or in building native soil is to get the calcium right!

Gypsum is Calcium Sulfate and is excellent calcium source for no-till growers. The added sulfur helps keep terps high and the soil balanced.

EXTREMELY PURE

97% Calcium sulfate dihydrate, the purest available on the market.

HIGHLY SOLUBLE

97% passing 200 mesh and 92% passing 325 mesh means it goes into solution faster and more completely than other sources.

IMPROVES LOW – SOLUTE WATER

Adds minerals to pure water to improve water penetration into soil.

LOWER APPLICATION RATES

Other western gypsum sources can require up to 4x more product to get the same results.

HELPS RECLAIM SODIC SOILS

Ultra-soluble calcium to replace and leach sodium in the soil.

How to Use

  • Use at lower rates (50-400 lb/acre) than non-soluble gypsum, but more frequently
  • For foliar rates use 1-10 lb/acre
  • Can be used for fertigation
  • 1-2 tablespoons per 5 gallons for container gardening/flush
  • When irrigating with gypsum, it's best used in small amounts more often rather than forcing a large amount at at time.

Stock Solution & Injector Setup

Gypsum is only slightly soluble. A true “solution” can’t reach the strength you need, so this is a slurry. Keep it agitated and filtered.

Stock mix (works well as a slurry)

8 oz gypsum (by weight) per 1 gallon of water.

8 oz = 226.8 g per gallon of stock.

How much finished water will that treat at 2 g/gal?

226.8 g ÷ 2 g/gal = ~113.4 gallons finished water.

Using an injector

Target dose is 2 grams per gal finished.

Required stock strength by ratio:

1:100 → need 200 g/gal in stock (= ~7.06 oz/gal)

Adding 8 oz/gal stock gives ~2.27 g/gal finished—slightly “hot” but close and totally fine to use as a go to ratio.

If you want it exact you will want to weigh your gypsum in house and extrapolate that way.

1:128 (common Dosatron) → need 256 g/gal (= ~9.03 oz/gal)

For 1:128, use ~9.0 oz/gal stock to land right at 2 g/gal finished.

Because the numbers are close you could just use the 8 Ounces per gallon but the level of precision is up to you.

Practical tips for slurry injection

  • Agitate constantly if possible.
  • Keep the injector pickup 2–3" above the bottom so it draws well-suspended slurry, not settled silt.
  • Strain the slurry into the stock tank (paint strainer bag) and keep the inline 200-mesh filter clean.
  • Don’t co-tank with phosphate-heavy or carbonate/alkaline products (can precipitate).
  • Flush the system with clear water after dosing
