Our Kelp Meal is from Thorvin.

Thorvin comes from the clean Icelandic waters and is managed by Acadian Seaplants Ltd.

Notice To Commercial Growers: Kelp contains many elements including small amounts of Arsenic. This arsenic is mostly organic and safe to use but Commercial Grows do not test for organic vs inorganic and could be a problem for your commercial grow. Reach out if you need assistance.

Arsenic is a naturally occurring element that is found in combination with either inorganic or organic substances to form many different compounds. Inorganic arsenic compounds are found in soils, sediments, and groundwater.

Cleanest Site on Earth

Thorvin carefully selects and harvests the finest sea vegetation from around the world. We choose our kelps for their nutrient content, clean growing site, and sustainability of harvest.

Thorvin’s core ingredients are harvested from Northwest Iceland, on the edge of the Arctic Circle, in the pristine Breiðafjörður bay, our organic harvest site. These cold, clean waters offer the perfect conditions for growing spectacular nutritious kelps.

Abundantly Rich

The waters of the fjord are richly mineralized by glacial milch rivers, which carry fine minerals from surrounding glaciers; by geothermal vents in the ocean floor, supplying deep earth minerals; and by upsurge from the meeting of Arctic and Gulf currents.

Handled with Care

The fresh harvest is immediately brought to a dryer, near the harvest area, so we don’t lose any of the nutrients in transport. And our dryer is powered by geothermal hot water, a renewable resource.

Nutrient‐Rich and Bioavailable

Thorvin is dried at controlled low temperatures to protect its biological values. Our exclusive drying technique prevents surface oxidation and browning, and locks‐in a powerful array of bioavailable minerals, vitamins, and beneficial phytonutrients.

Safety, Backed by Analytical Testing

Thorvin maintains a robust testing program, continually raising the bar on quality control as new analytical methods are available.

Organic, Kosher, and OMRI sealsOrganic and Kosher

Thorvin Icelandic Geothermal Kelp ingredients have earned the highest designation conferred by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) – Certified 100% Organic, since the NOP’s inception in 2002. Independent inspection verifies that we meet organic production standards as a wild crop harvest, which includes sustainable harvesting and protection of biodiversity. Additionally, our organic certification covers product handling and process, from drying to blending.

Our products are also Kosher, the gold standard for cleanliness. And Thorvin agricultural products are OMRI Listed for organic production.

How To Use

Want to make your own "Kelp Tea" for feeding plants with?

Here is a great way to use Kelp Meal fertilizer that was taught to me by ClackamasCoots

Take 1/4 cup of kelp meal and cover that with about 1/2 cup of water and let it completely re-hydrate. Once that is done then pour off any excess water and use that for a kelp meal tea.

Take the hydrated kelp meal fertilizer and puree it as much as possible to make a kelp meal paste. You'll want to do this in small batches and store in the refrigerator in the coldest place which is usually in a corner.

When you need to apply a kelp meal tea than add about 2 tsp. to 1 gallon of water, shake until it's completely dispersed and this is a safe concentration for spraying the leaves and you would probably want to double that amount to apply to the soil.

That's it!
